Launched on 18 May 1969, Apollo 10 was a dress rehearsal for the first Moon landing. The lunar module, nicknamed Snoopy, descended to within 15.6 kilometres of the Moon’s surface before returning to lunar orbit and re-docking with the Command Module, Charlie Brown.
